Everybody is dressed for the weather. It’s a way to enjoy the environment. – Suzanne Kennelly recalls her first experience of Western Canada’s largest winter festival.

“There’s this postcard in Shediac of my dad in his RCMP uniform, directing the floats. So here it was parade day and our dad was directing all of these floats and we all felt so proud.” – Gail Morris

“We are made up of about six subdivisions in our little community. And Santa, around the 1st of December, comes on a sleigh behind the fire truck, goes through every one of the subdivisions and every household is asked to give a toy or a donation of food.” – Karen LeBlanc

I think that this festival kind of reflects that ethos that existed for generations. – Brent Staeben
